Xi'an launches 248 new key projects

Xi’an held a launching ceremony to announce the new construction of 248 key projects on May 16.

Wang Yongkang, Party secretary of Xi’an, shared with those in attendance that the projects have attracted 120.8 billion yuan ($17.48 billion) in investments, and will cover the city’s infrastructure, livability and the manufacturing and service industries.

Statistics show that the service industry has received a total investment of 781.6 billion yuan, accounting for 65 percent of the investment.

"The projects represent Xi'an's achievements in attracting new business and investment, which bring new vitality to the development of the city," said Wang.

Shangguan Jiqing, mayor of Xi'an, urged officials at every level of government to take the projects seriously. He also said that Xi'an should continue to provide companies with high-quality services to attract additional investment and develop the economy.
