The international "Chang'an" freight trains that connect the inland city Xi'an to Central Asia and Europe performed well in the first month of 2018.
Despite the heavy snow and bitter cold, a total of 33 trains had smoothly returned by Jan 31 to the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park, eight times last year's figure for the same period.
The freight trains required the services of over 50 freight forwarding agents. Their many containers exceeded the capacity of loading and inspection personnel, putting great pressure on the officials of the park's administrative committee. They were called on to work overtime, providing door-to-door services to solve any problem as soon as possible.
Changes have been made to the inspection procedures and infrastructure construction has been improved to increase customs efficiency.

According to the plan for 2018, powerful logistics enterprises will be encouraged to get involved in the train operation by contracting for some of the routes.
The ITL Park will also seek more partners to expand supply sources and step up cooperation with other major ports in China to construct an international logistics channel.
The past year has witnessed the opening of new routes from Xi'an to Khorgos in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Kouvola in Finland and Teheran in Iran.
The Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park has a goal of deploying 1,000 trains in 2018, which will promote trade and cooperation between China and countries in Central Asia and Europe.
