ITL Park speeds up customs clearance

Updated: 2018-06-08

Xi'an International Trade and Logistic (ITL) Park has increased the efficiency of customs clearance as well as customs and railway departments which rely on the park.

There are 360 freight trains in service as of May 28, carrying 375,600 tons worth of goods. The operating capacity and cargo volume of Chang'an international freight trains were 1.85 times and 1.61 times higher, respectively, than the yearly average.

From January to May, 2018, the number of cross-border e-commerce orders in ITL Park exceeded 3 million, up more than 30 percent year on year.

On the morning of June 1, in the cargo inspection area of Xi'an Port's Xi'an Railway Container Center Station, customs officers were checking equipment and examining goods shipped by the global logistics industry leader DHL to Hamburg, Germany.

The Inspection equipment and customs declaration system were connected to the internet, allowing pictures and information of products as well as the inspection process and results to be recorded online. The inspection takes just one hour, allowing the goods to be promptly loaded onto the Chang'an international freight trains without delay.

In order to meet the needs of rapid customs clearance among cross-border e-commerce enterprises in ITL Park, Xi'an Customs has implemented a 24-hour appointment inspection service system. Cargo will be released immediately after the inspection is completed.

Xi'an Jinmuyi Import and Export Co is a cross-border e-commerce company which imports mother and child supplies. The newly imported goods were delayed for two days due to transit in Shanghai. They arrived in Xi'an Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the afternoon of May 31. After receiving an appointment, customs worked overtime to complete the inspection, allowing the goods to be sent to customers by express delivery on the morning of June 1.
