A seminar on cross-border E-commerce for Belt and Road countries and regions will be launched from June 20 to July 10 in Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by sections of the China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Yangling Agriculture Hi-Tech Industrial Zone and Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park, the 21-day event will be attended by 52 people from 17 countries including the DPRK, Malaysia, Palestine, Jordan and Namibia.

The seminar will discuss the current development trends and industrial structure of e-commerce as well as future trends and practices relating to cross-border e-commerce.

The China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone places great importance on boosting trade and economic exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Ma Xiaoqin, deputy director of Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

In cooperation with Yangling, the ITL Park is seeking to establish an e-commerce talent training system and a sharing platform to facilitate mutual cooperation and experience exchanges.

Ma also expressed his desire to accelerate the development of cross-border e-commerce by joining hands with countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The seminar is another profitable exploration after two previous trainings held by the ITL Park targeted entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan.

The three activities have benefited over 170 trainees from 19 countries, with some of them having already started a business in the ITL Park, conducting international trade deals with the help of the Chang'an international freight trains.
