Folk artists, scholars, jointly launch heritage association

The unveiling ceremony of Xi'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association was held in Xi'an on Nov 24, attracting more than 120 famous masters, experts, scholars and practitioners in the cultural heritage field.

It is of great significance to inherit and carry forward intangible cultural heritage for enriching people's material and spiritual selves, increasing employment, as well as promoting economic and social development.

Liu Zhengjun, chairman of Xi'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association, said that relying on Xi'an's profound cultural heritage and rich cultural atmosphere, the association will carry out intangible cultural heritage talent training, cultural and platform construction, as well as promotion and publicity.

The event also showed attendees more than 70 intangible cultural heritage products such as paper cut with the logo of the association, a clay sculpture entitled "Fanyu" and mulberry leaf tea cups.

Xi'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Association was established spontaneously by folk artists, inheritors and experts, scholars and volunteers who are passionate about the subject.

It will enable Xi'an's citizens to participate in intangible cultural heritage protection more actively and consciously.
