The State Council permitted Xi'an to become part of the third set of cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot areas in July 2018.

In the first 11 months of this year, a total of 2.05 million cross-border e-commerce orders were made in Xi'an, among which 71,000 were imports and 1.98 million were exports. The total value of goods exceeded $77 million.

Lyu Hengjun, director of the Xi'an bureau of commerce, said that Xi'an will strive to build itself into a globally influential hub for cross-border e-commerce, as well as an industrial demonstration zone, within three to five years.

The pilot area is expected to help ITL Park take full advantage of its strengths, which include its easily accessible urban location, vibrant market and high level of informatization, as well as promote economic growth and transformation.
