Fortune Global 500 giant to open northwest headquarters in ITL Park
China Metallurgical Group Cooperation (MCC), the world's largest metallurgical contractor and operator, is expected to open its northwest headquarters in Xi'an International Trade and Logistic Park (ITL Park).
The company is expected to sign a settlement agreement with the park at the Fourth Silk Road International Exposition, which will be held in Xi'an from May 11-15.
According to Tang Shimin, general manager of MCC Shaanxi Construction Investment Co Ltd, the headquarters will consist of one 139-meter-high main building and two 80-meter-tall buildings, with a total floor area of 310,000 square meters.
The total investment of the project is about 2.2 billion yuan ($325.04 million) and construction work is expected to be started in June.
"We will accelerate the construction speed to ensure it will go into use before the opening of the 14th National Games of China, which will kick off in Xi'an in 2021," said Tang.
He also disclosed that the metallurgical group will help bring more medium-and-high level talents from its headquarters to Xi'an, while also taking advantage of the city's rich academic resources to recruit in its efforts to form a high quality and localized management for the group's northwest headquarters.
