Service station for seniors opens in ITL Park

Updated: 2020-01-06

A service station for the elderly of Xihang Huayuan community in Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park was unveiled and started operating on Dec 30.

The new facility will provide day care services for the elderly in the community -- as a miniature nursing home -- in response to the current uneven performance of services provided in older communities and the large number of elderly people in the area.

At the unveiling ceremony, seniors get their blood pressure and a health check at no charge. Doctors and nurses from Xi'an Lianhu Baoji Hospital diligently monitored the condition of the elderly who came to get a consultation.

The first home care elderly service station in the industrial park covers an area of about 400 square meters and was funded by the park's management committee.

Officials said it features among other things rehabilitation rooms, reading rooms, an activity room, a painting and calligraphy room and elderly care equipment, in order to enrich the lives of seniors.

In the future, ITL Park will set up facilities for the elderly in newly built communities, as well as actively encourage others to invest nursing institutions for the elderly.
